Other Lives, Other Fragments is a tale of fragmented identities, of lives broken and destroyed during violent times. It examines the human story behind cataclysmic events through the diary of Badrul Islam, who was dispossessed during the 1947 and 1971 riots, and the tale of Manik, a boy from nowhere who is going nowhere, and how their lives intersect. Through these searing portrayals, the author tries to explore the implications of acts of hate undertaken in the name of religion and politics.
