About the Book: WAR is a powerful young adult graphic novel about conflict, invasion, courage and survival. Set in an unnamed city, it follows fourteen-year-old graffiti artist Kat after invading forces occupy her home and take her father prisoner. Refusing to flee, Kat risks everything to stay behind and attempt a rescue. Alongside her story is Adam, a young conscript struggling to understand the realities of war and why he has been forced to fight. Enhanced with illustrated, comic-style interviews with refugees, WAR explores the human cost of armed conflict, displacement, family, resistance and resilience in an accessible and thought-provoking format.
