About the Book: Sunrise on the Reaping is a dystopian novel by Suzanne Collins, serving as the prequel to the original The Hunger Games trilogy. Set 24 years before Katniss Everdeen’s story, the plot centers on the 50th Hunger Games (the Second Quarter Quell), a brutally consequential tournament where the Capitol requires twice the usual number of tributes as punishment for past rebellions.
